Mesenteric fibromatosis involving intestine mimicking a gastrointestinal stromal tumor

Mesenteric fibromatosis (MF) or intra-abdominal desmoid tumour is a rare proliferative disease affecting the mesentery. MF locally aggressive that lacks metastatic potential, but local recurrence common. We report case of 33-year-old female with chief complaints mass in abdomen which was hard on palpation arising from pelvis and extending up to umbilicus. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suggestive soft tissue exploration planned. Intra-operatively 16×16×8 cm attached ileum caecum excised completely sent for histopathological examination. Histopathology spindle cell type. Considering rarity this difficulties diagnostic therapeutic ambit, we believe it justified publish came our observation.
